Request for Applications: Community Initiative Mini-Grants
The Mission of the Irvine Prevention Coalition is to support a safe and caring community by working together to provide prevention strategies and coordinated services designed to reduce substance abuse, violence and related problems among our youth.  To encourage development of new and innovative evidence-based approaches to meet community needs, the Coalition aids constituent members in the planning, implementation and evaluation of inspired programs and strategies.  Serving as a “program incubator”, the Coalition provides guidance and resources to initiatives that will continue to serve the community beyond the life of the funding term.

The Irvine Prevention Coalition is once again accepting applications for Community Initiative Mini-Grants* for the school year 2006-2007.  We would like to provide our partners the opportunity to design and implement programs that will support the coalition’s goal of reducing youth substance abuse in Irvine.
ROUND #1 - Programs developed and/or implemented during the summer or early fall. Applications were due Friday, June 30, 2006
ROUND #2 - Programs developed and/or implemented during the 2006/2007 school year. Applications were due Thursday, August 31, 2006.

By submitting this application, your agency is expressing its interest in the process and willingness to enter into a formal Memorandum of Understanding with the Coalition regarding mini grant administration.  Agencies selected to receive a mini grant will be required to submit a Memorandum of Understanding (a draft will be provided to you.)

Your agency does not have to be a current member of the Irvine Prevention Coalition to be eligible, however, those agencies selected for funding will be required to have a representative attend monthly IPC meetings (third Thursday of the month at 3:00 pm.) Those selected will also be required to submit a simple progress report each quarter (the format will be provided to you.)
Mini grants are available for up to $2,000 per agency.  Funding will be granted to qualified agencies contingent to Executive Committee review and approval.  For information, send an email to debra@icdp.org

Funding for the Community Initiative Mini Grants is contingent on federal funding.
